Anita Gorski
I am a special education parent, an instructional technology specialist for the Special Education District of Lake County, IL, and a graduate student at the University of Illinois in the Curriculum, Technology, and Educational Reform (CTER) program. My 18 year old daughter is profoundly disabled with a primary diagnosis of Rett Syndrome. Because I am in the unique position of being both a parent and a staff member, I have been able to navigate the muddy waters of the IEP for more than 15 years and have learned a great deal from both sides of the table. Advocating, collaborating, and educating peers, staff and other parents has been a passion and a part of my life for more than 10 years.
